Where do I find my Public API Key?

How do I show earned entries on the checkout and thank-you pages?

Quick answer

Add the Giveaway Ninja app blocks in Shopify's checkout editor, then enter your Public API Key and Giveaway ID. The Thank You Checkout Badge works on every Shopify plan. The Giveaway Checkout Badge needs Shopify Plus, because Shopify only allows checkout extensions on Plus. Both show customers the entries their order earned.

Overview

Show the giveaway entries customers earned on the checkout and thank-you pages. They see the exact number of entries their purchase earned, which encourages repeat purchases and more participation in your giveaway.

Customers can check all their entries later on a purchase entries page.

Which Shopify plan do the badges need?

Checkout badge (Shopify Plus only): the Checkout app block can only be added on Shopify Plus stores, where checkout UI extensibility is available. This is a Shopify limitation, not a Giveaway Ninja one.
Thank-you badge (all Shopify plans): the thank-you page badge works on every Shopify plan.

Setup requirements

Before installing the badges, you'll need two things:

Your Public API Key. Go to the SETUP > API menu in your Giveaway Ninja dashboard to find it. In the same menu, add extensions.shopifycdn.com to Allowed Origins. Without it, the badges can't reach the API. See how to use the Giveaway Ninja API.
Your Giveaway ID. Open the Campaign editor, click GIVEAWAY and copy the ID from the Giveaway Details section.

Installation: checkout badge (Shopify Plus only)

Open the Checkout and Customer Accounts editor. In the Shopify theme editor, click Checkout and Customer Accounts
Add the block. In the Main block section, click ADD BLOCK
Find the app block. Scroll to the Apps section and find Giveaway Checkout Badge
Configure the settings. Enter your Public API Key and Giveaway ID in the block settings
Save and test. Save your changes and test the checkout flow to see the entries badge in action

Installation: thank-you page badge (all Shopify plans)

Switch to the Thank You page. In the Shopify theme editor, switch to the Thank You page view
Add the block. Click ADD BLOCK on the page
Find the app block. Scroll to the Apps section and find Thank You Checkout Badge
Configure the settings. Enter your Public API Key and Giveaway ID in the block settings
Save and test. Save your changes and complete a test order to see the badge on the thank-you page

Please note: if you set a minimum order value, the badge won't appear in the theme editor preview.

What customers will see

When everything's configured, customers see a badge with the number of giveaway entries their purchase earned. It gives them instant positive feedback and a reason to buy again.
