How do I give giveaway entries for posting on X (Twitter)?

Quick answer

Add the Tweet a Message entry action and write the post you want entrants to share. In the widget, entrants click the first button to open X with your text ready to post, then paste the link to their post and confirm to earn the entries. Each link is saved, so you can check the posts before you draw.

Tweet a Message rewards entrants for posting about your brand or your giveaway on X (Twitter). You write the post, entrants publish it from their own account, and your message reaches their followers.

How does Tweet a Message work?

  1. The entrant clicks the first button, "1) Tweet Message" by default. X opens with your text ready to post: in a popup on desktop, in a new tab on mobile.
  2. They publish the post and copy its link.
  3. They paste the link into the field and click the confirm button, "✔ Confirm Tweeted" by default. The entries are added, and an empty field is rejected.

The link appears on your giveaway's Entries page, in the Content / Validation column, so you can open any post and check it.

How do I set up Tweet a Message?

  1. Edit your giveaway, open the ENTRY ACTIONS tab and click Tweet a Message in the Get More Traffic group.
  2. Write the post in the Tweet field. Include your @handle, a hashtag and the link to your giveaway page, and keep it within X's character limit.
  3. Edit the Action button, the Validation text shown in the link field and the Confirm Button label if you want different wording.
  4. Set the Value, and switch on Mandatory or Allow Daily if you need them.
  5. Click the small SAVE button, then save the giveaway.

How can Tweet a Message help my brand?

  • A searchable buzz feed. Use one branded hashtag, and every post lands in a feed you can search, share and repost.
  • Traffic, not just mentions. Put your giveaway or landing page link in the post, so every follower who reads it is one click from your store.
  • Launch week noise. Change the post for a product drop, announce the launch in it, and let your entrants spread the news on launch day.
  • Social proof. Dozens of real accounts posting about you in the same week is a stronger signal than any ad.
  • Pair it with referrals. The post spreads the word, and refer-a-friend tells you exactly who brought each new entrant.

Check X's promotion rules before you launch. They discourage asking people to post the same message again and again, so if you switch on Allow Daily, change the suggested text regularly and give entrants a reason to add their own words, such as "Tell us which product you'd pick".

People also ask

Does Giveaway Ninja check that the post was published?

No. It saves the link the entrant pasted, and an empty field is rejected. Check the links on the Entries page before you draw and disqualify anyone who didn't post. See how to draw and notify giveaway winners.

Can entrants post every day for more entries?

Yes, with Allow Daily the action unlocks again every 24 hours. X discourages contests that ask people to post the same message over and over, so change the suggested text often and ask entrants to add their own words. Plan the changes with the campaign calendar.
